Educational Goals
In this introductory college level public speaking course, students will use effective speech methods for various speaking settings.

This course satisfies the general education requirements for oral communication. Students will be exposed to a wide variety of communication skills progressing from preparing a speech to presenting one. The goal of this course is to make students effective oral communicators. The premise of the course will be the basics of communication and ultimately moving to how communication affects our lives today. Furthermore, this course will empower students to explore the elements of their own world and order them in coherent ways, to shape a relationship with an audience, and to form ideas into statements, which exert an impact upon other people. Also, research is a requirement of this course.
Summary Aim
Students will learn the entire process of how to complete an effective multi-step demonstration speech.
Rationale
The learners will understand: (a) why public speaking is vital to their career performance advancement and (b) how to explain a process with manipulative tools. Also, students will gain public speaking knowledge, enhance their understanding of demonstration speech essentials, and apply and transfer this knowledge to the informative speech.
